Signs ready dough has gone bad

  • Sour or off smell.
  • Slimy surface or sticky texture.
  • Discolouration or visible mould.

When in doubt, throw it out — the cost of a spoiled meal isn't worth the risk.

Best way to store ready dough

Keep raw semi-prepared dishes covered in the coldest part of the fridge and cook within a day or two. They freeze well — freeze in meal-sized portions and label with the date, then cook from frozen or after thawing in the fridge.
