How long does pasta last? Fridge, freezer & pantry
Unopened, pasta keeps in the pantry for around 2 years. Once opened, use it within about 1 year for best quality and safety.
| Fridge | Not recommended |

| Freezer | Not recommended |
| Pantry (room temp) | 2 years |
| After opening | 1 year |
Times are for unopened, properly stored pasta and reflect best quality. Always use your senses and follow any date on the package.
Signs pasta has gone bad
- Musty, rancid, or off smell.
- Signs of pantry pests, webbing, or clumping.
- Mould or moisture inside the container.
When in doubt, throw it out — the cost of a spoiled meal isn't worth the risk.
Best way to store pasta
Store dry grains and pasta in airtight containers in a cool, dark pantry, away from moisture. Cooked grains belong in the fridge in a sealed container and should be used within a few days, or frozen in portions.
