How long does mango last? Fridge, freezer & pantry
Stored properly, mango keeps in the fridge for 5 days and in the pantry for around 3 days.
| Fridge | 5 days |
|---|---|
| Freezer | Not recommended |
| Pantry (room temp) | 3 days |
Times are for unopened, properly stored mango and reflect best quality. Always use your senses and follow any date on the package.
Signs mango has gone bad
- Soft, mushy, or leaking spots.
- Mould or fuzzy patches.
- Fermented, alcoholic, or off smell.
When in doubt, throw it out — the cost of a spoiled meal isn't worth the risk.
Best way to store mango
Ripen most fruit at room temperature, then move it to the fridge to slow it down once ripe. Keep ethylene-producers (bananas, apples) away from delicate produce. Berries spoil fast — keep them dry and unwashed until use; most fruit freezes well for smoothies and baking.
