Signs cooked rice has gone bad
- Musty, rancid, or off smell.
- Signs of pantry pests, webbing, or clumping.
- Mould or moisture inside the container.
When in doubt, throw it out — the cost of a spoiled meal isn't worth the risk.
Best way to store cooked rice
Store dry grains and pasta in airtight containers in a cool, dark pantry, away from moisture. Cooked grains belong in the fridge in a sealed container and should be used within a few days, or frozen in portions.
